For Wire Harness wrapping, different wrapping systems are generally selected according to the working environment and space size. Our common wire harness bandage wrapping solutions mainly have the functions of wear resistance, flame retardancy, anti-corrosion, anti-interference, noise reduction, and beautifying appearance. So when to use what to wrap becomes the focus of our study today. The functions of different bandage materials may also be different.

The bandage materials currently used on the market mainly include corrugated tubes, heat shrinkable tubes, PVC tubes, tapes (PVC tape, flannel tape), wiring winding, etc. A brief description of these wire harness winding materials.

1. Bellows

The main characteristics of corrugated pipes are good wear resistance, high temperature resistance, flame retardancy and heat resistance in high temperature areas. The heat resistance of ordinary corrugated pipes is -40 ~ 150. Its materials are generally divided into PP and PA. The flame retardancy and wear resistance of PA materials are better than those of PP materials. But the PP material is a PA material that resists bending fatigue.

2. Tape

The tape plays a role in binding, wear-resistant, insulating, flame retardant, noise reduction, marking, etc. in the wire harness. Cable harness tapes are generally divided into three types: PVC tape, brushed tape, and accounting tape. PVC tape has better wear resistance and flame retardancy. The internal temperature is around 80, the noise reduction is not good, and the price is relatively cheap. Flannel tape and Brinell tape materials are pets. Flannel tape has the best bandage and noise reduction properties, and the room temperature is around 105. The common disadvantages of flannel tape and Burkey tape are that they have poor flame retardancy and are expensive.

3. Heat shrinkable tube

The heat shrinkable tube is the inner wall layer, which is defined as thermosetting glue and has the functions of high temperature shrinkage, insulation and anti-corrosion. After heat shrinking, the protected part is completely cut off and can be 100% waterproof and insulated. It is generally used to wrap bare electronic circuits. Heat shrinkable tubes are divided into PVC heat shrinkable tubes, PET heat shrinkable tubes and double wall tubes. The first two can be used to wrap wires directly, and the latter can be used instead of electrical insulation tape to wrap iron wires.

4. PVC pipe

PVC pipe functions similarly to corrugated pipe. PVC pipes have good flexibility and bending deformability. PVC pipes are generally closed. The heat-resistant temperature of the pipes is not high, generally below 80°C.

5. Bobbin

The bobbin is a spiral cap made of polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) or nylon (PA) made of hot winding molding and extrusion. This is a new product that replaces the traditional metal protective spring used for rubber tube protection. This kind of pipe is mainly used to improve the appearance. It not only has the function of strong wear resistance, but also is very easy to install. If there is a problem with the line and needs to be repaired, it is also very convenient to disassemble.
