The main reasons for UL electronic wire aging are as follows:
1. Ambient temperature
The external environment and heat source of the cable will also cause the cable temperature to be too high, insulation breakdown, and even explosions and fires.
2. Chemical corrosion
The cables are directly buried in areas with acid-base effects. UL 1015 electronic wire, UL2464 flexible wire, UL2468 flat ribbon cable, UL1007 wire, UL2651 gray flat wire, it is easy to become the cable armor, lead skin or outer sheath is corroded, and the protective layer is subject to chemical corrosion or long-term electrolytic corrosion, Resulting in failure of the protective layer, reduced insulation, and cable failure.
3. Damaged by external force
Judging from the operation analysis in recent years, in the context of rapid economic development, a considerable number of cable failures are now caused by mechanical damage.
4. Cable connector failure
Cable joints are a weak link in the cable wire. Cable joint failures often occur due to direct negligence (poor construction) of personnel. In the process of making cable joints, if the original network phenomenon such as insufficient joint crimping and insufficient heating occurs, the insulation of the cable head will be reduced and accidents may be easily caused.
5. Long-term overload operation
Overload operation, due to the heating effect of the current, when the load current passes through the cable, the conductor must be heated. At the same time, the skin effect of the charge, the eddy current loss of the steel armor, and the insulation loss will also generate additional heat, which will increase the temperature of the cable. During long-term overload operation, excessively high temperature will accelerate insulation aging and even insulation breakdown. Especially in the hot summer, the temperature rise of the cable will often cause the weak part of the cable to be broken down first, so in the summer, there will be more cable failures.
6. the insulation layer is damp
This phenomenon is also very common and usually occurs at cable joints directly buried or in pipelines. For example: unqualified cable joints and joints made under wet weather conditions will cause the joints to enter water or water vapor. Over time, water branches will form under the action of the electric field, which gradually threatens the insulation strength of the cable and becomes a malfunction.
